The Village Inn - history
There has been a public house at the corner of Hurst Street and Skinner Lane since the early 19th century.
The ground floor was rebuilt in 1887 by C. J. Hodson, and was altered in the early 2000s.
It is now one of the gay pubs in Southside, part of the Gay Village.

There was Birmingham Pride banners in rainbow colours ahead of the Pride Parade on Hurst Street during May 2019, not far from The Village Inn.

In the summer of 2020, after restrictions from the first lockdown were easing, venues down on Hurst Street, such as The Village Inn had outdoor seating on the road.
There was also security barriers on the road, so only pedestrians could use the road at the time.
